Taaltrainer Engels en Nederlands Annemieke Luijckx

Allow me to introduce myself in 60 secs.

One language sets you in a corridor for life. Two languages open every door along the way.

Why do you want to learn Dutch?

Why do you want to learn Dutch or English? Do you simply want to be able to socialize with friends, colleagues and neighbours? Or does your employer insist you learn the language? Do you need to be able to attend meetings and engage in negotiations in Dutch or English? Perhaps your kids speak the language fluently by now and you do not want to lag behind/you need to know what they are saying. To get the most out of a training it is crucial to set clear goals.

The benefit of realistic expectations

  • If you expect too much, students will become demotivated. On the other hand, if you expect too little, students might want to rest on their laurels before they have even earned them.
  • In three months’ time students can learn to understand or give instructions, answer the phone, write or understand a simple email and socialise in Dutch or English.
  • If they need to learn to negotiate and attend meetings, of course they will need more time.
